here we go with his new corner. this is the place that the changing table used to stand. i was delighted when i measured the whole room and found out that the little table with the two chairs fits exactly into this corner. i wanted to make a little drawing/crafting/writing center. the spice rack from ikea is helpful because it keeps materials away from the table for a free workspace. i bought some new crayons, and he has his paints and wax crayons, a sharpener, his scissors, some stickers and extra sheets of paper there right now.
i created a blackboard using blackboard foil (just like in the kitchen). at the moment he's very into cleaning the board with the little cloth i gave him for that... what was most important to me was to hang up any pictures or photos at a height where he can actually look at them well. the drawing, as you might have guessed, is by simona, who generously gave it to us. you can take a closer look at it here. i left some space for "he loves to read" illustration and anything spencer might want to hang up in the future.

It looks lovely and I love that he has big papers to draw on. Must be an artist family ;-) Space in his room and space to draw, just perfect.
The space you have created for your family is one of true beauty Sylvia. It all looks so warm and inviting, his space, her space...perfect!
Beautiful creative space!! I was struck by the lighting in the room. Such a bright cheery area :)

What a great creative space to grow up in!
What a fantastic space! I love it!
What a great room! I love the touches you've done to it with the ikea items (love love Ikea!). And that is such a pretty bed frame and the armoire - did you put fabric on the inside? Do you have a tutorial or can tell how you did it? Great idea. Pretty and it hides lots of things inside.
Love it Sylvia. Especially the bit about putting pictures at his eye level. So important! What a considerate mama he has :)
Thanks for sharing x
thanks all!
@Ellen: thanks so much! the armoire is an original turn-of-the century piece. it usually comes with glass doors, but when i got it, there was nothing in the doors. we used it as an open shelf for a long time, and then i decided to put it in my little guy's room. all i did cut the fabric in the right size and then staple it to the back of the doors, right side facing out. pretty simple ;))
