i saw some lovely knitted cup warmers/mug cozies, however you want to call them over at etsy already, but when i spotted a *cheap* home decor store selling them i thought to myself it's about time i made myself one. it is so cooooooold here at the moment (-10°C at the weekend) so when i enter the kitchen in the mornings to make myself some coffee it's lovely to have something soft and cozy on my cup.
i made this mug cozy using felting wool and felted it in the washing machine. i had to guess a little with the size, but i'm glad i was so generous as it does shrink quite a bit. you could also just simply knit or crochet the piece. i added a long ribbon thingy on one end and am using it to wrap around the big vintage button on the other end, this way the mug cozy works on different sized cups. i then stitched on some stars in the colour of the button - done!

This is really nice! You should make some more and add them to the store. I would love to have one! With this warmer even the ugliest mug can become a beauty :)

So cozy! Love love :)
I've known about egg warmers, but this is the very first cup/mug warmer I see. Great idea.
P.S. ...didn't know Simona's got ugly mugs, ha, ha!!
Really like it. Linked to you in my blog, hope that's okey :) http://crafterlifebyme.blogspot.se/2012/10/i-wanna-be-warm-this-winter.html
